Have You Seen the IDC MarketScape Report on Online Communities?

Written by Hunter Montgomery | on September 21, 2016 at 9:15 AM

Online communities are all about getting relevant, ongoing conversations to customers quickly and easily. The community industry is quickly becoming a frontrunner for the customer experience, with an emphasis on the growing importance of communities for customer relationships, feedback, and support. The new IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Online Communities 2016 Vendor Assessment highlights the strengths and advantages of incorporating community into any organization.

We think IDC says it best in their recent press release:

Online communities are quickly becoming a critical part of the digital strategy for many organizations as a platform to establish ongoing conversations, trust relationships, and meaningful engagement with customers, employees, partners, and suppliers.”

IDC is an analyst firm that focuses on the high tech market (similar to Gartner and Forrester). Companies use IDC services and reports to help them make technology purchasing decisions.

We’re honored to be included in this year’s list of reviewed vendors and regarded as among the leaders in community software and the online community landscape.

Our placement as a Leader in this report is a testament to the community products we’ve built over the last eight years, but more than that, it’s validation for all of our community management-focused products and success our clients have had with their own online communities.

Check out IDC’s report summary of Higher Logic here.

The IDC MarketScape Report noted our strengths in integrations, mobile-friendly sites, email support, and helping a community manager’s daily life. And our best features, like automation rules and developing ROI outcomes, truly set us apart from the rest of the community software vendors. According to the report, “Higher Logic's attention and focus on easing the community manager’s life come through in the company’s feature set, product organization, and customer base.”

In assessing online community vendors, IDC’s report recommends buyers look for sophisticated platform analytics, some automation of community manager tasks, the ability to deliver a user experience consistent across an organization’s online presence, and a direct connection to customer data. In discussing our community platforms, the IDC report stated, “Higher Logic has found resonance among customers that are member-based as an entity and, with its focus on proving ROI outcomes and integration, is attracting customers in larger organizations.”

Higher Logic is one of nine companies that made the final report, which includes SPRINKLR, INC., SAP, AG, Salesforce.com, Inc., Adobe Systems Incorporated, Lithium Technologies Inc., Jive Software, Inc., and Verint Systems Inc.
