ASAE Annual in the Music City: Sounds Like a Great Opportunity!

Written by Caitlin Struhs | on August 8, 2014 at 10:00 AM

The Higher Logic team is excited to head south to Nashville for this year's ASAE Annual Meeting and Expo. There's plenty to see and do in the Music City, so don't settle for work or play - take advantage of both! On your way to and from ASAE, make sure to check out these Higher Logic-approved activities. And don't forget to tweet your favorites to us at #ASAE14.

Honky Tonk Happy Hour

Join Higher Logic on the reknowned Honkey Tonk Highway for some barbeque, country tunes and good times with ASAE friends. RSVP here. If you still want to see some sights when the party ends, we recommend Tootsie's or The Second Fiddle.

The Pancake Pantry

The line is worth the wait at this Nashville breakfast staple, so fill up on pancakes and syrup before a day filled with networking and sessions begins.

Higher Logic is at Booth #417

Grab an ASAE friend, new or old, and head over to our booth. You'll have a chance to win a Fender orange guitar, collect some free cowboy hats and hang out with the Orange Army.

The Gulch

Nashville's Gulch neighborhood is an up-and-coming spot in the industrial/railroad section of town. It's filled to the brim with retail, dining and city events, but do some extra exploring to track down Yazoo Brewing Company for a few samples.

Hot Trends in Association Social Tools

A great session to stay on top of the latest trends, tune in for Higher Logic President Andy Steggles' session on Sunday at 3:30pm.

Tennessee State Capitol Building

You've armed yourself with new association knowledge, so take a break and a step back in time. Did you know the State Capitol was the first to fall to the Union, and became a fort and hospital during the Civil War? Take a tour, and see what else lies within the impressive capitol (hint: an architect and a president).

The ASAE 5K Fun Run

A few Higher Logic team members do this run every year - it's a great way to network and kick off the show. All registration fees go to the ASAE Annual meeting charity of choice. This year it's The Second Harvest Food Bank in Middle Tennessee.

If you're looking for an even broader taste of the south, we also suggest going over to Deirdre Reid's blog to check out her #ASAE14 series - take her word for it on restaurants like Husk, and where to get a great pint or the best fried chicken.

See you all in Nashville this weekend!
